On December 4, 2017, a panel discussion on «Poland and Ukraine in the Process of  Transformation, Integration and Security Challenges for East-Central Europe» will take place within the course «The Comparative Study of Democratization: Transition Politics in V4 countries and Ukraine».

Invited speakers:

Bartosz Jozwik is the Head of the Department of International Economic Relations at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. He is interested in the relations between economic growth and the process of European integration. Much of his recent research has been supported by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and focuses on the relationship between economic growth and energy consumption and security.

Tomasz Stępniewski is the Associate Professor and the Head of the Department for Eastern Studies at the Institute of Political Science and International Affairs, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin, Poland. He is interested in the European Union’s Eastern policy, international relations on the Commonwealth of Independent States’ area, Russian policy towards Eastern Europe.

Vitalii Lebediuk is the Associate Professor of the Department of Political Science and National Security, the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Informational Management at The National University of Ostroh Academy. He is also the Head of The NGO «School of Political Analysis “POLIS”» (Ostroh). His research interests include comparative political institutions, political parties and elections in post-communist countries, democratization, post-Soviet politics, European studies and quantitative research methods in comparative studies.

Dmytro Shevchuk is the Professor of Social Philosophy and Cultural Studies and the Vice-rector for Science and Education at the National University of Ostroh Academy. His scholarly interests include modern political philosophy, research methods in humanities, social and cultural processes in Central and Eastern Europe. He is the author of the monograph Sense and Borderlines of the Political: A Philosophical Interpretation (in Ukrainian, 2014).
